1. The Service

CVMaverick is an AI-powered resume builder. It helps you create a professional profile, enhance it with AI, match it against job descriptions, and generate tailored resumes and cover letters. We may update, add, or remove features over time. The Service also includes an optional browser extension that lets you send a job posting from a webpage to your account.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using it, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

3. Your account

You sign in through our authentication provider (Clerk), including via Google. You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

4. Your content

You keep all rights to the information you enter and the documents you upload ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to store and process Your Content solely to operate the Service for you, including sending relevant parts to our AI provider to generate the output you request. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any content you upload.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information;
• upload content that infringes others' rights or breaks the law;
• attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service;
• use the Service to build or train a competing product; or
• misuse the AI features to generate unlawful or harmful content.

6. AI-generated content

The Service uses AI to help draft and improve your resume and cover letters. AI output can contain errors or omissions. You are responsible for reviewing, verifying, and editing all generated content before you rely on or submit it. We do not guarantee any particular outcome, including interviews or employment.

7. Subscriptions and payments

CVMaverick uses a simple credit system. The free Basic plan includes a monthly credit allowance, and paid subscription plans (billed monthly through our payment processor, Stripe) include larger monthly credit allowances. Subscribers can also buy one-time credit top-up packs; top-up credits are added to the current billing month and, like plan credits, expire at the end of that month, unused credits do not roll over. Prices, credit allowances, and any published fair-use limits are shown on the pricing page before you pay, and promotion codes can be applied at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. You can cancel at any time via the billing portal; your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, then reverts to the free plan. If we reduce a plan's credit allowance, we will announce it at least 30 days in advance. Refunds are not automatic; if something went wrong, contact support and we will review your case.

8. Deleting your account

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your profile page. This is permanent and cannot be undone. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, and we may retain records related to violations or suspensions to prevent repeat abuse.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate or fit for a particular purpose.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CVMaverick will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, opportunities, or profits arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and ask you to review and accept the updated version before you continue using the Service.

12. Governing law

These Terms, and any dispute arising from them or from your use of the Service, are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you use the Service as a consumer in another country, you keep any mandatory rights and protections granted by the laws of your country of residence.
